2018 was a big travel year for us. After getting married near the end of 2017, we took a sabbatical from our jobs, moved out of our apartment and put our stuff in storage, and made plans to travel for most of 2018. Our extensive travel year kicked off with a long desired trip to New Zealand.

We made a plan to spend a month exploring both islands, and in the end, this was conservative. The country is a stunner, with so many diverse landscapes and wide open spaces. This required a lot of long drives to cover it all, but we did the best we could thanks to Andrea’s master planning of our itinerary. After a couple days acclimatizing in Auckland, we jetted down to Queenstown to begin our whirlwind tour of the South Island.
