The Galapagos: Backpacking on a Budget

Think the Galapagos Islands are out of reach for budget backpackers? We did too, until we were encouraged by other travellers in Ecuador that it could be done. So, in spring 2018, without anything planned, we spontaneously booked some flights and headed to the islands to see what we could do on a tight budget. We saw more then we ever expected – giant tortoises, marine iguanas, acrobatic pods of dolphins, and beautiful, remote landscapes.
